Experience

Legal Counsel for Major Power Project Conversion and Operations

Served as legal counsel for a large-scale power project, advising on operations, energy, environmental and natural-resource matters. Assisted with a multi-billion-dollar capital project to convert coal-fired units to gas-fired combined cycle units, secure clean hydrogen fuel supply and upgrade transmission systems. Provided guidance on contractual and permitting issues, while helping prepare for the transition to gas-fired operations, including negotiating agreements and developing new operating procedures.

Large-Scale Solar Project Development and Acquisition

Served as legal counsel for a developer on multiple utility-scale solar projects exceeding 500 MW capacity, involving various land types. Conducted due diligence, led the purchase and sale agreement and assisted with post-acquisition matters including permitting, land acquisition, environmental issues, title and tax concerns.

Solar Facility Development and Construction Financing

Served as legal counsel for the development and construction financing of a 300 MWac ground-mounted solar photovoltaic generating facility in Utah. Provided ongoing support since the project's acquisition, including development assistance, obtaining approvals, title clean-up, and preparation for ultimate construction and bridge financing.
