At Parsons Behle & Latimer, we are dedicated to mentoring and supporting future generations of exceptional attorneys.
Parsons Behle & Latimer recruits from a diverse pool of first- and second-year law students to participate in its Summer Associate Program with the goal of them becoming practicing attorneys at Parsons. If you are looking to develop your legal career, serve sophisticated clients, and work alongside some of the best attorneys in the Intermountain West, Parsons is the place for you.

Parsons is located in the Intermountain West with national expertise in a multitude of practice areas. We are a firm full of talented, diverse, engaging people, and our practice groups are ranked among the best in the Intermountain West.

Parsons Behle & Latimer’s Summer Associate Program offers you meaningful, real-world legal experience at a leading regional firm—and a path to full-time employment after graduation. You’ll tackle substantive projects, work closely with attorneys, and experience the inclusive culture that defines Parsons. Each summer associate receives a dedicated mentor, personalized feedback, and hands-on training through writing workshops and structured learning sessions. Our Recruiting Committee checks in throughout the summer to ensure you’re meeting our expectations and building genuine connections across the firm. Our goal is for you to become a practicing attorney at Parsons.

Our Summer Associate Program traditionally starts in late May or early June each year. Our summer associates are typically with us for 10 to 12 weeks, depending on their availability.

Parsons has offices across the Intermountain West, including in Lehi, Park City, Salt Lake City and St. George, Utah; Boise, Idaho Falls and Rexburg, Idaho; Reno, Nevada; Helena and Missoula, Montana; and Jackson, Wyoming. Many of our lawyers are admitted and actively practice in other states as well. While we consider ourselves to be a “regional” law firm, our practice is national.

We know choosing a law firm that's right for you can be difficult. Parsons Behle & Latimer stands out because our culture genuinely shapes how we work and how you’ll grow.
We’re driven lawyers who believe excellent work and a full life go hand in hand. Our attorneys are not just practitioners—we are parents, skiers, snowboarders, river rafting guides, musicians, professors, community volunteers, and more. Our compensation system reflects that understanding by allowing associates to select one of three hourly billing minimums after two years of practice.
We’re also committed to fairness, belonging, and expanding access to justice. As a founding member of the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion and Idaho’s Access to Justice Program, we are committed to opposing racism and other forms of discrimination and promoting equal opportunity.
Finally, community service is in our DNA. Parsons' attorneys are expected—and supported—to lead in their communities and provide pro bono work with the same dedication and skill we bring to our clients.
