Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons) congratulates shareholder and bet-the-company litigator Erik A. Christiansen for his appointment by the American Bar Association (ABA) to serve on the executive committee of the ABA in his capacity as the newly appointed chairperson of the Member Services Committee of the ABA’s Board of Governors. Christiansen is currently serving a three-year term on the ABA Board of Governors.
ABA President Michelle A. Behnke, whose term begins on Aug. 12, 2025, and runs for one year, appointed Christiansen to serve for a one-year term as chairperson of Member Services. The eight-person executive committee, in collaboration with ABA staff and board, assist with managing the operations of the ABA.
Christiansen says, “I was deeply honored to be asked by President Behnke to serve on her executive committee during her term as ABA president. Michelle and I have served on several ABA committees together, and she is a fantastic leader and the right person for these challenging times.”
Christiansen has had a long and dedicated career with the ABA in addition to excelling as a lead practitioner at Parsons. At the ABA, he has held the positions of:

- Member, American Bar Association House of Delegates, Utah State Bar Representative (November 2017-present)
- Member, Select Committee, ABA House of Delegates, August 2022-August 2024

- Regional Cochair - Utah, ABA Judicial Intern Opportunity Program, August 2021-August 2024
