SALT LAKE CITY - April 20, 2023 Today, Parsons Behle & Latimer Director, Vice President and Shareholder Juliette P. White was bestowed the Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association’s (FBA’s) highest honor the Award for Distinguished Service at the chapter’s Annual Awards Dinner. The award is presented as a lifetime contribution award to an FBA member who has displayed long-term outstanding achievement, distinguished leadership and participation in the activities of the association's chapters, sections and divisions throughout the nation over a career of service.
Brandon J. Mark, FBA board member and fellow shareholder at Parsons Behle & Latimer (who recused himself from voting), says, “Juliette was selected from among several other worthy candidates for her career of demonstrated excellence as a practitioner in the federal courts and her dedicated service to the Federal Bar Association, including as its past president. Juliette’s exceptional combination of intellect, pragmatism and professionalism has been recognized by her peers, her colleagues at Parsons and her clients. Despite all her accolades and successes, Juliette remains modest, funny and caring of others. Personally, I appreciate how thoughtful she is about decisions affecting the firm’s employees.”
Award winners are judged on the criteria of a sustained general accomplishment over a period of time, including their understanding of federal law, public service, attention to the welfare of federal attorneys and benefitting the FBA through personal actions and the management of FBA resources and members. White has been an FBA member since the beginning of her career, some 20 years ago. She served on FBA’s Utah Chapter Board for 10 years and is a past president. For three years, she served on the FBA’s National Convention Committee and was co-chairperson of the FBA’s 2015 Annual Meeting and Convention.
White says being a member of the FBA is important to her as an attorney because the FBA is dedicated to advancing federal practice throughout the country, and that as part of its mission, the FBA provides an extraordinary opportunity for members of the federal bar and bench to collaborate and connect. She says, “This organization has helped me develop as a federal practitioner in ways that are valuable to me and my clients, and I am grateful for all the work they do. The Utah Chapter of the FBA has long been one of the best chapters in the country, and its work to advance the practice of law in our federal courts is tremendously beneficial to all members of the bar and bench, to our clients and to the citizens of Utah. I’m very proud of my past work with the Utah Chapter, and I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this recognition.”
