For the fifth consecutive year, Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons), has claimed the top spot in the Utah Minority Bar Association’s (UMBA’s) annual Juneteenth Charity Challenge, raising money for a worthwhile community cause.

Through the generosity and dedication of Parsons’ team of attorneys and professional staff, a total of $27,197 was raised in support of the Samoana Integrated Learning Initiative (SAILI). The amount raised by Parsons was more than all other participating firms and organizations combined.

SAILI, founded in 2011, is a Utah nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the well-being of Pacific Islander communities through educational experiences that strengthen identity and build pathways for excellence and achievement.

This fundraising milestone would not have been possible without the commitment and teamwork of many individuals throughout the firm. Hundreds of Parsons’ team members throughout its 11 offices, whether behind the scenes or front and center, made this accomplishment possible. This included many who donated or contributed auction items and others who invested significant time and effort to make the fundraising week an overwhelming success.

“The Juneteenth event epitomizes the Parsons Way. I was inspired by how many people across the firm stepped up to contribute their time, energy and talents in support of this worthy cause. This collective effort reflects our commitment to excellence, service and the communities we serve. I am honored to work alongside such remarkable colleagues, whose dedication brings our values to life every day. Thank you, Team Parsons! We did it!,” says attorney Amanda Adomako, who served as fundraising committee chair.

In addition to Adomako, attorneys Andres Morelli and Jesus Salazar served on the fundraising committee.

Being at the top of the list in this fundraising challenge for five consecutive years is more than just a number, it’s a testament to the unwavering culture of generosity and purpose at Parsons. It further reflects the firm’s deep-rooted core values: People, Service, Excellence and Integrity. We are pleased to make a meaningful difference in the communities in which we live and work, and plan to continue endeavors like this in the future.

To celebrate this fundraising effort and join with representatives from SAILI, a Juneteenth celebration was held on June 16 at Gracie’s restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City, where various members of Parsons’ team were present.
