Ashely Nikkel, managing shareholder of the firm’s Reno office, wrote an article for the July/Aug. issue of Trends, the publication of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources.
Titled “The Rise of Federal Equity in Mining,” the article discusses Federal equity participation in mining and mineral supply-chain companies, which demonstrates a significant shift in U.S. critical minerals policy, expanding the government's role from regulator and financier to direct investor in strategically important projects. Nikkel addresses the practical questions these investments raise, including agency independence, governance and competition.
